The Council of Europe has adopted the Copyright Directive in the digital single market.
On April 15, 2019, The Council of Europe has adopted the Copyright Directive in the digital single market.
The Directive makes changes in many areas of copyright, which can be grouped into three main categories;
- Exceptions to the ban on the use of digital works in a digital form when crossing borders within the European Union;
- Improving licensing practices that ensure wider access to copyright;
- Establishes a basis for achievement of a functioning marketplace for copyright within the EU.
